WORK SESSION Saturday August 9th (with BIG BUTTERFLY COUNT)

Our next work session will take place on August 9th, between 10am and 2pm, or any part of that time you can manage.

BIG BUTTERFLY COUNT

This month we are also taking part in a nationwide survey to assess the health of butterfly populations in the face of climate change and other environmental threats. We have set aside a 15 minute period (from about 11:30am) when we will observe and count butterfly species. We will have some easy ID charts to help or you can download an App from https://bigbutterflycount.butterfly-conservation.org to ID and record what you see. That site also has a lot more information about the survey.

If you would like to come just to take part in this survey you would be very welcome! Accompanied children also welcome.

For new members, if you haven’t visited the site before…

– The entrance to the cemetery is in Nichols Road which is a short, unadopted road off Waller Road (post code S6 5DU).
– If you are arriving by car there is a limited area for parking in the cemetery and space on Waller Road. Please avoid parking in Nichols Road.
– Please note, there are no buildings or toilet facilities on the site.
