As part of Love Your Burial Ground Week the Friends of Walkley Cemetery will hold a open day on June 13th from 11am – 2pm. This event will provide an opportunity for visitors to explore the cemetery, learn more about its history, and even help out if they wish! There will be information on display and the Friends will be on hand to answer any questions.

For new members, if you haven’t visited the site before…
– The entrance to the cemetery is in Nichols Road which is a short, unadopted road off Waller Road (post code S6 5DU).
– If you are arriving by car there is a limited area for parking in the cemetery and space on Waller Road. Please avoid parking in Nichols Road.
– Please note, there are no buildings or toilet facilities on the site.

“Ruskin comes to Walkley – And also to Totley”
This new play by David Price and Frances Gray is to be performed as a dramatised play reading with music at St Mary’s Church, Walkley, at 7 pm on Saturday, 13 June. It is a free event – no tickets required. There will be a collection at the end of the performance – proceeeds will go to the church funds of both St Mary’s and St Mark’s. This year is the 150th anniversary of the opening of Ruskin’s Museum in Walkley.
